What is a Master Guide Outdoors Expedition?
According to the Oxford Dictionary, an expedition is “a journey undertaken by a group of people with a particular purpose, especially that of exploration, research, or war.”
This definition can be adapted as: A Master Guide expedition is a journey undertaken by a group of Master Guides and their friends with the intentional purpose of exploring nature, seeking to connect with God and our neighbor.
What is it about?
- Think about this as a powerful spiritual retreat in Jesus’ favorite church: nature.
- Participants will arrive Friday evening or early Sabbath morning at our base camp, located 1 hour and 15 minutes from the Washington Conference, northeast of Mount Rainier. The address will be provided after registration.
- This is a winter camp where we will learn to be comfortable in low temperatures.
- We will offer both challenging and mild day hikes on Sabbath.
- On Sunday morning, we will provide training on how to organize MGO events effectively.
Who can come?
- Only Master Guides and MG Candidates, ages 16 and older.
Who can’t come?
- This is not an event for Adventurers or Pathfinders.
What should I bring?
- An equipment list will be sent to registered participants.
- Registration opens from Feb 3
- Registration fee $15
- Registration ends on Feb 16, 12pm
